Always on the lookout for an inspirational book to read (on a plane or late at night when I can’t sleep), I decided to share five of my favorite inspirational books. From how to appreciate yourself to a gratitude journal, these five books will change your attitude and mindset. These are books are shorter but pack a powerful punch. This blog contains affiliate links. Click here to find out more.

You are a Badass book cover

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero is one of my favorite books! Jen teaches you how to appreciate yourself with fun, bite-size anecdotes that make you laugh but also make sense. She has a light and approachable style which makes the lessons she is teaching sink in a little further.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert is a wonderful book that embraces the creative struggle. This book encourages and repeats many thoughts and ideas that we often hear and ignore. I think this is the book most recommended in different creative groups… and with reason. Is it for everyone? Probably not but it will lift you up when you are struggling and re-align you when doubt is steering you off course.

Your Illustrated Guide to Becoming One with the Universe

Becoming One with the Universe by Yumi Sakugawa. This book is so sweet and precious. Lovely little illustrations combined with mantras, daily reminders, and universal truths. Easy to pick up and open, it will add to your life as well as your bookshelf. (It also makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves illustration and a little inspiration.)

The One Minute Gratitude Journal by Brenda Nathan. This is a lovely little journal to help keep you inspired. Cynical is so easy, why not take a few minutes each day and practice gratitude? Short passages encourage daily, frequent gratitude entries. This is simplicity at it’s finest and will encourage you to grow as a person, with a few minutes each day.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. This book will change your mindset and your home. Learning to appreciate things and let them go is a simple, yet often difficult process. I think this has been one of the most influential and inspirational books I have ever read. To be able to clear clutter from my home without thought has made my life so much easier and reduced the amount of money our household spends. Leaving more time to read books!

Hopefully these amazing and easy to read books will inspire you to make some change and work on being the best you.
